City Issues Proclamation Ending Local Emergency Related to November 19 Storm
December 20, 2024 - In response to last month’s major windstorm, the City issued Proclamation No. 351 which declared a local emergency, activating additional response resources and operations. Puget Sound Energy crews, City staff, partner agencies, and volunteers all worked in tandem to clear fallen trees, fix downed power lines, remove road obstructions, and check on neighbors as the Island and our region recovered from the storm.
With the storm and emergency operations behind us, Proclamation No. 351 is no longer necessary, and the City issued Proclamation No. 352 today, December 20, 2024, which formally ends the local emergency.
The City extends a heartfelt thanks to all Islanders for the resilience, helpfulness, and spirit of community exhibited throughout this challenging emergency – thank you for looking out for each other.
