Restoration Event | 62nd St Trail

Join us for a Forest Steward Led Work Party on the 62^nd Street Trail!

Mercer Island Forest Stewards will be hosting a work party on the 62^nd street trail. We will be spreading mulch along the trail to prepare for planting events in the future. Mulching is a very important step in the restoration process, mulch helps with weed suppression, water retention, and soil remediation.  It will be a great chance to get your hands in the dirt and work alongside neighbors and friends! No experience necessary; gloves and tools are provided.

• When: Saturday, Dec 9^th, 10am-12pm
• Where: 62^nd Street Trail off of Island Crest Way, if driving you can park at the intersection of 84^th Ave SE and SE 62^nd st.
• What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring a water bottle. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
