SE 53rd Open Space
SE 53rd Open Space is a 26-acre natural area located adjacent to SE 53rd Place and E. Mercer Way. This natural area contains a watercourse, large wetland areas, and some steep slopes so be sure to stay on trail to protective sensitive habitat! Massive cedar snags, logs, and stumps likely are mementos of pre-settlement forests and enhance habitat and aesthetic value of the park. The City continues to conduct forest restoration activities in the natural area. The trails through the site provide excellent opportunities for hiking and bird watching.
