The softball fields at South Mercer Playfields get lots of spectators when there are games scheduled. With the three home plates so close by, foul balls can catch bystanders by surprise. The City of Mercer Island is meeting with the Mercer Island School District and other field users to evaluate the options for reducing stray foul balls. Interested citizens are welcome to attend this meeting.
