Notice is hereby given that the Mercer Island City Council will hold three public hearings at its regular meeting of November 17, 2020 at 5 pm. The first public hearing will be on the levy/rates for the 2021 fiscal year: property tax levy, water utility rates, sewer utility rates, stormwater utility rates, and EMS utility rates. A second public hearing on the Final 2021-2022 Biennial Budget is also scheduled; its adoption is anticipated at the Regular Meeting on December 1, 2020. The budget hearings will be open for public comment; any individual may register to appear and be heard for or against any part of the budget by either calling in or logging onto the meeting as a Zoom attendee. The third public hearing will be to receive comments on an ordinance authorizing the City Council to approve a six-month extension of the moratorium on the submission or acceptance of applications for any building permits or any other land use approvals for major new construction for properties located within certain areas of the Town Center, as approved by Ordinance No. 20-12 on June 2, 2020 and amended by Ordinance No. 20-18 on September 1, 2020

All City Councilmembers and staff will be participating in the meeting remotely using video conferencing technology provided by Zoom. For the safety and wellbeing of the public and staff, the City strongly recommends that the public attend the meeting by viewing the live feed of the video conference on the City’s YouTube Channel or on MITV Channel 21.
