Dave was elected to the City Council in November 2019. He was elected to serve as Deputy Mayor for 2022 - 2023, and was re-elected to serve as Deputy Mayor for 2024-2025. He is a third-generation Washingtonian who moved home to Mercer Island to be closer to family. Dave, his wife, and kids love the small-town feel and unique character of Mercer Island. They can often be found enjoying many of the Island's parks and open spaces. 

Dave spent 14 years working as a Congressional aide in Washington D.C. and currently works in public relations for Rover, a Seattle based technology startup.
