Councilmembers Sworn In, Mayor and Deputy Mayor Elected

Swearing In Ceremony

January 5, 2021 - At the first City Council meeting of the year, City Clerk Andrea Larson swore in newly-elected councilmember Ted Weinberg and re-elected councilmembers Salim Nice and Lisa Anderl. The swearing in ceremony was held over Zoom as part of the regular meeting, with councilmembers joined virtually by family members. Each councilmember took the oath of office and officially began their terms.

City Council elected Salim Nice to serve as Mayor and David Rosenbaum as Deputy Mayor at the meeting. Under Mercer Island's form of government, councilmembers elect who amongst themselves will serve in these positions.
