Safely dispose of the old equipment, hardware, appliances, and other household items that are cluttering your basement or garage at the annual Mercer Island Fall Recycling Event on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 9:00am to 3:00pm.

  • Confidential Document Shredding (5 box limit)
  • Tires*
  • Propane Tanks*
  • Electronic Equipment
  • Scrap Metal*
  • Lead Acid & Household Batteries
  • Cardboard
  • Porcelain Toilets & Sinks*
  • BBQ’s
  • Mattresses*
  • Appliances, Refrigerators & Freezers*
  • Lawnmowers
  • TV’s, Computers & Monitors

  • Styrofoam - can be taken to the Recology store in Issaquah
  • Construction / Demolition Debris
  • Garbage
  • Furniture
  • Plastics
  • Plastic Toys, Hoses, Etc.

*Pricing to Accept Specific Items: 

  • Air Conditioner: $35
  • Fridge or Freezer: $35
  • Mattress or Boxspring [Must be dry]: $30
  • Propane Tanks [Residential only]: $5
  • Tires [Limit 6]: small car tires free; car tire on rim $3; truck tire $9; truck tire on rim $18. Extra tires off rim - $1.50 each.
  • Toilets and sinks: $15
  • Water Heater w/insulation: $5

HOUSEHOLD HAZARDOUS WASTE:

Household Hazardous Waste is not accepted at these events but can be taken to King County’s Factoria collection site Tuesday-Sunday; more information and hours can be found online or by calling 206-296-4692. (Note: there is a limit of 25 gallons of gasoline and other automotive fluids per trip and containers must be 5 gallons or smaller; please separate motor oil from all other fluids).
