Bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format to the Public Works email address at: bids@mercerisland.gov. Sealed bids will be received, not sent, electronically by the City until 10:00 AM on November 20th, 2024. There will be no public bid opening for this project. Bid results will be posted on the City’s web page at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.
Bidder questions are to be directed to Ian Powell, Street Engineer, by email only at ian.powell@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until 2:00 PM on November 15th, 2024. Questions received after this date will not be answered.
Work to be performed under this contract includes but is not limited to: Demolition of the existing building and foundation, removal of pavement and sidewalks, capping and abandoning existing building services, site regrading, excavation and disposal of contaminated soils, placement of barrier fabric and clay liner over contaminated soils to remain, installation of new pavement and sidewalks, installation of a new crosswalk, new wheel stops, new planter areas and swales, modifications to the existing water system, modifications to the surface water collection systems, new surface water treatment system, modifications to the existing illumination systems, new plantings and irrigation, irrigation modifications, new bicycle racks and lockers and new channelization and signage.
The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.

Bidders are encouraged to register in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to be placed on the

Plans and specifications are also available at the City of Mercer Island website https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps. Addenda may not be available or updated on this website.
A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
