Police Investigating Discovery of Two Deceased Individuals

November 14, 2022 - At approximately 9:55 am, Mercer Island Police and Mercer Island Fire responded to the 5500 block of West Mercer Way for a reported welfare check. Upon arrival, Police officers encountered two deceased individuals. Both individuals were in their 80’s and lived at the residence.

A firearm was located within the home that had been discharged. The King County Medical Examiner will determine the cause and manner of death. There are no outstanding threats to the public.

This case is under investigation, and the Mercer Island Police will update the community as information is available.
