Engineers Estimated Cost: $3,011,000 - $3,847,000

Bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format to the Public Works email address at: bids@mercerisland.gov.  Sealed bids will be received, not sent, electronically by the City until 10:00 AM on June 27, 2024.  There will be no public bid opening for this project. Bid results will be posted on the City’s web page at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.

Bidder questions are to be directed to George Fletcher, CIP Project Manager, by email only at george.fletcher@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until 5:00 PM on June 20, 2024. Questions received after this date will not be answered. All questions and responses will be posted in an addendum by June 24, 2024, to the Builders Exchange site.

Bidder questions are to be directed to Elayne Grueber, P.E. Utilities Engineer, by email only at elayne.grueber@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until noon on Monday, June 24, 2024. Questions received after this date and time will not be answered. All questions and responses will be posted in an addendum by June 25, 2024, to the Builders Exchange site. (see addendum 1)

Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, replacement of approximately 5,100 LF of AC water main with ductile iron (DI) water main, appurtenances varying in size from 4 to 12 inches, 9 fire hydrant assemblies, 98 water services, 5 connections to existing water mains, and concrete driveway and HMA road restorations. This will involve temporary erosion/water pollution control, property restoration, and other miscellaneous items. The work also includes removal of approximately 100 LF of asbestos pipe.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.

A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
