Engineers Estimated Cost: $800,000 - $1,000,000

Bidders shall submit their bids in PDF format to the Public Works email address at: bids@mercerisland.gov.  Sealed bids will be received, not sent, electronically by the City until 2:00 PM on June 27, 2024.  There will be no public bid opening for this project. Bid results will be posted on the City’s web page at: https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps.

Work to be performed under this contract includes, but is not limited to, structure excavation, trenching and backfill, removal and disposal of vault lids, furnishing and installing of new lids, site grading, restoration of surface improvements, temporary sewer bypass pumping, and removing, furnishing, and installing new 40kw diesel standby generators and associated electrical equipment at City of Mercer Island sewer pump station (PS) 23, 5406 96th Ave SE, and sewer PS 25, 4266 E Mercer Way, Mercer Island, WA 98040.

A non-mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at 10:00 AM on June 18, 2024. Bidders are

to meet at PS 25 (4266 E Mercer Way, lower parking lot) to discuss the work, bidding forms, and procedures. Both sites will be visited during this walk through. Attendance by bidders, subcontractors and suppliers is strongly encouraged.

Bidder questions are to be directed to Chris Marks, Utilities Engineer, by email only at chris.marks@mercerisland.gov. The City will receive questions until 12:00 PM (noon) on June 21, 2024. Questions received after this date will not be answered. All questions and responses will be posted in an addendum by 12:00 PM (noon) on June 25, 2024 to the Builders Exchange site.

The City reserves the right to reject any and all bids and to waive minor irregularities.

Click on “Posted Projects”, “Public Works”, “City of Mercer Island”, “Projects Bidding”. Builders Exchange manages the official bidders list. Bidders are encouraged to register in order to receive automatic email notification of future addenda and to be placed on the official bidders list.

Plans and specifications are also available at the City of Mercer Island website https://www.mercerisland.gov/rfps. Addenda may not be available or updated on this website.

A bid deposit in the amount of five percent (5%) of the bid total price must accompany each bid.
